Plastic Sheet Protectors

Plastic sheet protectors are in basic a folded sheet of plastic welded at the bottom and left side where holes are pre-punched to fit different standard ring binders types. The sheet protector is then left with one opening at the top where papers can be inserted or pulled out again. Sheet protectors with the opening at the top is named "Top loading sheet protectors" but other configurations are available with openings at the left side and the sheet protector becomes a "Side loading sheet protector".

Keepfiling Sheet protectors are available for different types of paper sizes which again fit different type of binder sizes. The two most common sizes in North America are letter size which holds an 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheet of paper and legal size sheet protectors which holds 8-1/2 x 14 size of paper. However a number of other size are availble in the market place perhaps as many sizes as there are inches on a ruller.

Note when refering to the sheet protector sizes you always refere to the inside mesurement of the document the sheet protector hold NOT the actual outside dimention of the sheet protector itself.

For every sheet protector size there are almost for sure also a binder size that can hold the needed type of sheet protector however there things to look out for example before picking the right binder and one issue is to make sure the binder has rings that actual fit the hole configuration needed. There are a lot of different ring sizes and configuration but to make it easier some manufactures of sheet protectors do offer sheet protectors pre-punched with universal holes which fit the most common binder types.
Finally make sure the binder can hold the pages as some binders are made too slim or narrow so the pages may stick out over the edge of the binder. Not very pretty or functional.
