12 x 12 Sheet Protectors

Things to consider when purchasing 12 x 12 sheet protectors or 12 x 12 page protectors.

You are properly planning on saving your pages for many years so make sure your 12 x 12 sheet protectors and 12 x 12 page protectors are archival safe and acid free. This will assure you that they are good for long term storage.

The 12 x 12 page protector you fit the binder you plan on attaching your pages into. Most pages are pre-punched with 3 holes 4-1/4 inch apart but pending on wherever your binder is a post bound binder or a binder with standard 3- rings you need different page protectors.

Post bound binders need 12 x 12 page protectors with extended binding edge along the hole line side. This make it possible for the binder pages to be displayed flat when the binder is placed open on a table or similar. And perhaps more important prevent the pages from being bend which is a good thing to prevent is you fill them with a thicker piece of cardboard as an example.

Standard 3 ring binders on the other hand can take standard 12 x 12 page protectors as the "hinge" in the page lies in the way the ring turns. 12 x 12 sheet protectors without the hinge are also about 1/2 inch narrower which means the fit better with standard 12 x 12 Scrapbook Binders.

Finally and not atleast choose 12 x 12 page protectors that are not made in too thin material. A 12 inch wide page need some support across the binder when stored in the binder so to prevent it from getting "soggy" for lack of better word a stiffer page is preferred. Some manufacture choose to forget about this information but that is usually also the once with the thinnest and cheapest 12 x 12 page protectors.
Don't get anything less than a "heavy weight" page protector preferred a "super heavy weight" if you can afford it.

Heavy weight sheet protectors is usual 2.76 - 3.54 Mil thick.
Super heavy weight sheet protectors is: 4.3 Mil or higher.
